All of the above equipment may be purchased or hired, and in the latter circumstances a refundable deposit is required. Hiring in consequence provides an economical means of securing the usage of sophisticated equipment at a fraction of its actual cost.
It should be noted that equipment is only provided to telephone subscribers for the monitoring of their own telephone installations and to other individuals on the proviso that devices are to be used in their own premises.
